Block Island, RI

We were originally planning to head up Narragansett Bay to Wickford, but after checking the weather reports, decided to go to Block Island, where it was promised to be 10 degrees cooler.  Here is the view of the Great Salt Pond from Payne's Marina.

Heading back to Chester on Friday, we passed North Dumpling Island.

Jamestown, RI

So far 2013 has been a washout.  The weather alternates between rain and hot and steamy.  We headed to Jamestown on Monday, where it was so hot we ended up using the boat's A/C.  We were parked across the dock from the old Nantucket lightship, which has been turned into a hotel.  Around the corner was a brand new mega yacht, Safira, getting ready to head to Greenland.  Google it if you get a chance; it's got a lot of new, environmentally friendly technology. Watching the crew of 10 get ready to move it was interesting.

Here is the view of Jamestown.  In The Field, the trawler to the right, was our traveling companion.
